Downwind Compass ("the app") is operated by Michael Beckinghausen. This policy explains what data we collect and how it's used.
01 What we collect
- Account information: email address, full name, and username, provided when you create an account.
- Precise location: collected only while you are actively in a session ("run") with your crew. Your location during an active session is shared in real time with other members of that same session — no one outside your session can see it.
- Last-known position: we retain your most recent position from a session briefly, to support reconnection if your connection drops mid-run.
02 Advertising
We do not currently show ads or use third-party ad networks. We reserve the right to introduce advertising in the future; if we do, we will update this policy before any change takes effect, and any advertising would not involve selling your precise location or account data to advertisers.
03 What we don't do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect your location outside of an active session.
04 Data accuracy
Location data depends on your device's GPS, network connectivity, and other factors outside our control, and may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable at any time. See our Terms of Use for important safety limitations.
05 How to delete your data
Email support@downwindcompass.app with a deletion request, and we'll remove your account and associated data.
