By using Downwind Compass, you agree to the following:
01 Not a safety or emergency device
Downwind Compass is a recreational coordination tool only. It is not a safety device, emergency locator, or substitute for on-water judgment. Location data shown in the app may be delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or entirely unavailable due to GPS limitations, connectivity loss, device issues, or app errors.
Do not rely on this app to locate, monitor the safety of, or communicate with another person in an emergency. If you or someone with you is in danger or need of rescue, contact the U.S. Coast Guard, 911, or the appropriate local emergency service immediately — do not use this app as your means of summoning help or coordinating a rescue.
02 Assumption of risk
Downwind foiling and related open-water sports carry inherent risk of serious injury or death, independent of this app. You are solely responsible for your own safety decisions on the water, including conditions assessment, equipment, skill-appropriate riding, and judgment about when to ride, regardless of what the app shows or fails to show.
03 No liability
Michael Beckinghausen is not liable for injuries, accidents, deaths, or losses arising from your use of this app, reliance on any data it displays, or activities coordinated through it, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
04 Account conduct
Don't use the app to harass others or misrepresent your identity.
05 Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
